The purpose of this page is to list sites of interest to the Irish Community. We try to list local Irish groups, Irish organizations, businesses, pubs, Irish dance schools and Irish music sites, as well as genealogy links, travel links, Irish news links and links to web sites in Ireland.

Atlanta Irish Sites

THE HIBERNIAN BENEVOLENT SOCIETY OF ATLANTA - Founded in 1858 by Father Thomas O'Reilly, the Society has approximately 150 members and promotes Irish culture in the Atlanta area. The Society has sponsored the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade for 117 years.

ANCIENT ORDER OF HIBERNIANS - TARA CHAPTER - ATLANTA - The Tara Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians was formed in 1998 with the goal of bringing together Irish Americans to promote our culture in the City of Atlanta.

Clan Na nGael & GAELIC ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION - Gaelic Football Club in Atlanta, founded in April 1996. The only GAA club in the Southern Division (Georgia), the Atlanta club has over 100 members.

FESMA - the Fire Emerald Society of Metropolitan Atlanta, a new organization, was formed to provide a fraternal organization for the firefighters of Metropolitan Atlanta who share a Gaelic heritage. This organization provides support to members of the fire service who are sick and injured, and their families. Special attention will be made for line of duty injuries and deaths.

MAPES - the Metropolitan Atlanta Police Emerald Society, Inc., in existence since 1997, is a non profit, non political fraternal organization, whose mission is to promote a sense of pride in their Gaelic heritage and to recognize the accomplishment and contributions made by fellow Gaelic law enforcement officers within the Metro Atlanta Area.

 - Theatre Gael's mission is to produce and preserve the plays, poetry, music, dance and storytelling of the Celtic countries of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. In Atlanta for 15 years, Theatre Gael is the only inter-Celtic theatre in the region.

Atlanta's Irish Chamber - is a group of Americans of Irish ancestry and others interested in Ireland who have come together to continue and strengthen the long-standing ties between the Irish and U.S. business communities, to enjoy each others company, and to support and promote other Irish-related activities in the Atlanta area.

W.B. Yeats Foundation - The W. B. Yeats Foundation was established in 1989, the fiftieth anniversary of the poet’s death, so as to honor Yeats’ achievement as a man and artist and thereby to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the richness and diversity of Irish culture.

Ulster American Society - The Society funds and undertakes programs that raise American awareness of Northern Ireland; change misperceptions; help Americans understand present-day Northern Ireland and the challenges its people face after decades of conflict.

Irish Arts Foundation - The IAF is a North Metro Atlanta not-for-profit organization that promotes traditional Irish music in our neighborhoods.
